Springtime in Paris

Spring was still officially six days away as I wrote this:  The weather has been so gorgeous in Paris for the last few days, that everyone is hoping Spring is really here. Branches are blossoming with tiny flowers, the sun is out and the weather is warm, and it made me think today that there is nothing prettier than Spring in Paris (or anywhere for that matter, but it’s hard to beat here). And after cold gray days of winter, this is just heavenly. It will probably get cold again, but this is sooooooo nice.

I had lunch at a totally magical place today. There is a small lake in the park here, the Bois de Boulogne, with an island on the lake. And I’ve always heard about a restaurant on the island called “Le Chalet des Iles”. A friend invited me to lunch there today, and you have to take a boat to cross the small expanse of water to the Island. And once there, there is an open terrace, where you can have lunch and sit in the sun, which is exactly what we did. It was absolutely fabulous, so relaxing and peaceful, looking out over the small lake, and baking in the sun as we ate lunch. It doesn’t get better than that!!!  I’m going to go back there again!!! It makes the good weather even better, and there is something wonderfully whimsical about having to get there by boat, even though it’s only a short distance.  And tonight I am having dinner at a restaurant that specializes in souffles, which I love too. So I am having a very fancy day in Paris, in the heavenly springtime sun. It was so pretty at lunch today that I had to share it with you.

Other than that, when I’m not being lazy, soaking up the sun, I am starting a re-write of a book tomorrow, will work on some of my song lyrics next week with the composers, and I am thoroughly enjoying springtime in Paris. Wherever you are right now, I hope Spring is on its way to you too!!!

Love, Danielle

    Hi Danielle,
The weather here in the eastern US has been like summer, makes you long for the days at the beach. My friend in California said it was chilly there, that could be 70 degrees.Spring is my favorite time of the year, it reminds me to start over and enjoy the new moments that happen in our lives and to be open to new things that are possible to happen.
Are you writing songs now? Who would you like to have sing them when your done? You must have been born to create! Keep going! Happy Spring!!!!!
    Mary

    Hi,Danielle

I’m a great admirer of you from Japan, have read almost all of your books. Although English is not my native tongue, I am totally drawn into your magical world every time I read your books. I make it a rule to jot down the lovely expressions and sophisticated descriptions from your books, which have now accumulated.
Keep up the good work…always looking forward to your coming books. Mieko

From San Francisco I send a big hug and kisses your way….I have always held a very fond place in my heart for Paris…The Romance seeps from the very core of the city . And it’s so heavenly during the Spring. The weather here has been typical to say the least…We had several days of rain as well as an incredible evening that was filled with lightening and thunder… I am certain you saw the dramatic photos of the Bay Bridge and the lightening… Can you imagine the view from “The Top of the Hill”?
Be well Danielle and until we meet again…
Fondly , Adrian Jo ( Shoe Sylist Extraordinaire)

    Hi Danielle ~
Thank you so much for sharing your day with us. I was able to get a wonderful visual of what it was like to be on that island having lunch in Paris! Spring has already arrived here in Northeastern PA (US) and it has actually been beautiful and warm. Almost time to plant my veggie garden and summer flowers. Now if only I could teach my dogs to stay out of my gardens…
Please let us know more about your song writing – how exciting!
