11/9/20, Bag Story

Hello Everyone,

AMAZING story: 2 weeks ago, I had lunch at a favorite restaurant with a terrace, before the new confinement. Fun lunch. Happy day. I was wearing a favorite handbag I love a lot, a big black leather bag with a bright red lining. I put it under the table at my feet. End of lunch, I reached for my bag: gone. Vanished. Stolen. A first for me. In Paris, there are cameras in the street high up on posts, to fight crime. 5 hours at the police station, stolen bags a common occurrence (all my credit cards, ID, phone, address book etc. in it). It’s an expensive one of a kind bag, and the likelihood of ever seeing it again was zero. Back to the police station the next day for another 4 hrs. And then, luck was with me. The police had the whole theft on video from the street, the case was referred to a special theft unit, and a fantastic senior officer took an interest in the case. 12 days later after some incredible police work by the Surete Territoriale, they arrested the thief, and a miracle: he still had my bag, hadn’t sold it. I never, ever thought I’d see my bag again. I am SOOOO GRATEFUL to have it back, and the detectives of the special unit are OUTSTANDING. They handed me the bag, and it was a very happy ending for me. I’m thrilled and the French police were truly amazing!!! Wow!!! I posed for a picture with the detectives of the Surete Territoriale, to celebrate the return of my bag and their incredible police work!!

Have a great week!

love, Danielle

Dear Danielle, Thank you for giving so much of yourself. Your books have always brought great insight, and enjoyment to my life. I just finished reading Blessing in Disguise yesterday. I really related since my mother was legally blind due to macular degeneration. At the time of her diagnosis injections were not available. I read your words with tears. My mom was that brave woman who found new challenges to be mixed blessings. She went to Braille on Thursdays in La Jolla and learned to cook, do crafts. and live independently.
I watch Joel Osteen regularly and recognized him in the book. Yes many lives are changed through his ministry. God’s promise changes us. I loved Spy, and Beachamp Hall. Each book gives me personal growth. Thank you. Stay well and safe. I’m glad you got your purse back. God bless you. Ann

    Hi, Danielle,

The “Lost and Found” of your bag story is so fascinating – equal to the plots you wrote on your previous Novels, although it is a real thing happened to you. Pay tribute to French Police and detectives. The new found bag will be more treasured.

Thanks for sharing another blessing in your life recently.

    With love and cheers,

I have been enjoying reading your blogs, but this one was a special one because it reminded me of my sister in law. The EXACT same thing happen to her in Paris!!! Her very expensive bag that had her passport, IDs, credit cards, and ten thousand dollars cash was gone after she finished dinner. She had her bag just like you under the table.. I guess you need to now write a book on how not to put your bag under the table in Paris! It is great that the police helped finding the bag, in my sister in law’s case it was gone 🙁 Great detective work by the police.

    Awesome story, Danielle.

Happy good things are happening for you with the return of your much loved bag.

    Write on ….

Your quote book should arrive in a few days. I read the reviews on Amazon and some people were confused that they ordered a new novel.

I get the whole quote thing and what they meant to you. Looking forward to the book.

    God bless us all,
